Taco Bell Brings Back Its Chalupa Cravings Box

Taco Bell has brought back its $5 Chalupa Cravings Box, which includes a Chalupa Supreme, Crunchy Taco, Five-Layer Beef Burrito and Cinnamon Twists and a choice of Brisk Dragon Paradise Sparkling Iced tea or any fountain beverage.

The Chalupa Cravings Box is available at Taco Bell for a limited time, while supplies last.

The Cravings menu was initially launched in 2014, replacing the Why Pay More menu. It was renamed “Cravings Value Menu,” when prices increased on some of the items.

Taco Bell introduced the Chalupa to its menu in 1999 and has since reinvented the dish with the Baja Chalupa and Double Chalupa in 2017 and the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa in 2019.

Other Chalupas that have been on the Taco Bell menu include a Bacon Club Chalupa, XXL Chalupa Quesalupa, Breakfast Chalupa and the Naked Chicken Chalupa.

Taco Bell also introduced the Naked Chicken Chalupa in 2017 and removed it from the menu the same year. In 2021, Food & Wine reported that Taco Bell was experimenting with a plant-based version of the Naked Chicken Chalupa, called the Naked Chalupa, with a pea-centric blend.

Chalupas are named after small, flat-bottomed boats propelled by oars they are made with masa shells that, when fried in hot oil, curl up slightly to resemble the boat’s hulls.
