Rover Focuses On Human Reassurance In Pet Spots

Rover, a large pet-care platform, wants to reassure pet owners when they have to leave others in charge of their animals.

"To My Hooman," the brand's new work from Little Hands of Stone, targets those who stress about their pets when they are away. The spot is meant to deliver peace of mind. The agency, which has sitters pass a background check, found that 68% of pet owners say their pet has a unique need, and expect caretakers to address it.

To keep cat and dog owners happy, Rover sitters provide users with photo updates of their contented pets.

The campaign features a series of 11 videos. The 90-second anthem spot ishereand one of the 15-second spots ishere. The animated national push is relayed from the pet's perspective and encourages them to let their “hoomans” know it's OK to take a break. They are safe in Rover's care.

Spots are running on broadcast, connected TV and YouTube, including Hulu, MSNBC, CNN and ESPN.

"What we love about working with Rover is that they want nothing more than to move beyond cute pet platitudes to what being a loving pet parent is really like,” said Matt McCain, co-founder, Little Hands of Stone. “It’s sweet, sometimes gross, hilarious, sad, joyous and there’s lots of hair everywhere at all times."

The Seattle-based agency has done work for "Thursday Night Football-Alexa," Amazon Astro, Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center and F5 App Security.
