YouTube Expands Creator Monetization Access, Launches Comparative Analytics

To persuade more creators to join its platform and manage their channels more effectively, YouTube has announced expanded access to its YouTube Partner Program (YPP) and launched an update to channel analytics.

At the start of this year, the video-sharing platform expanded YPP eligibility to include Shorts creators and added Short ad revenue sharing. Then in June, the company expanded the program by lowering eligibility criteria for creators to join, lowering the necessary number of subscribers from 1,000 to 500 for creators living in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Taiwan, or South Korea.

Now, the lowered requirements have expanded across 33 additional countries, offering thousands more creators access to fan-funding features like Super Thanks, Super Chat, Super Stickers and channel memberships.

However, to access the full breadth of YouTube revenue sharing and monetization tools, creators must still reach the original engagement requirements.

YouTube is also making it easier for more creators to use the platform’s analytics features, announcing a new option to right-click on the Analytics button in YouTube Studio, which will open a new tab in Advanced Mode and allow creators to see unified analytics for multiple pieces of content.

This update is intended to allow creators to see which content and content formats are delivering the best engagement on their channel.
