Pernod Ricard USA chose the San-Francisco-based Argonaut agency as its creative AOR for Código 1530 tequila brand. The brand was founded in 2016 by George Strait, Ron Snyder and Federico Vaughan.
In late 2022, Pernod Ricard acquired a majority stake.
The assignment was awarded after a competitive pitch. The current spot features George Strait.
Argonaut will develop a campaign that drives awareness and differentiation in the competitive category.
Código 1530 is a premium spirits brand created from a private recipe known for generations by a select group of Mexico’s most respected jimadors. There are no added chemicals, flavoring, or sweeteners. It is produced in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico.
The agency works with various brands, including Cricket Wireless, Fitbit, NerdWallet, Carl’s Jr. and Appleton Estate Rum.

Código 1530 is available in all 50 states and more than 30 countries worldwide.
