Media agency Battery has named Pete Breton to the new role of first president-executive creative director, Battery Canada.
Breton reports to Battery’s CEO Anson Sowby and CCO Philip Khosid.
Battery, a lead creative agency of the Paris-based Havas Group, has offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto and Shanghai.
Breton will be responsible for building the agency’s footprint in Canada and hiring staff for various positions. The agency hopes to move quickly in the Toronto market. The company already does work for Royal Bank of Canada.
Previously, Breton spent 10 years at Anomaly Toronto, where he lead teams for top clients in both Canada and the United States. He also worked for Cossette and Lowe Roche.
"I’ve been a fan of Battery’s work for years, and am a big believer in the agency’s ethos of creating work that’s also entertainment," said Breton.
Khosid said the agency needed a "brilliant, well-established creative leader to head up our operations in Canada, and Pete is exactly that."
Battery’s ethos is to merge classic marketing principles with Hollywood-style storytelling.
