FuboTV Names Dina Roman Global Head Of Ad Sales

Dina Roman has been named senior vice president of global advertising sales of FuboTV, a newly created position at the virtual pay TV service.

Roman, who has been with the company on a consulting basis since last spring, has been credited with helping the company add a 34% hike third quarter in North American advertising revenue to $30.3 million.

Fubo says additional growth in advertising resulted from a shift in resources into direct and programmatic guaranteed transactions, which tripled in the period year-over-year. While the company says third-quarter CPMs increased year-over-year across from direct and programmatic guarantee deals, it did not disclose specifics.

Fubo gained from new upfront advertising deals in automotive, retail and consumer packaged goods categories, which included General Motors, Walmart and Post Foods.

Previously, Roman has been senior vp of sales and strategy at Simulmedia. She also held senior executive roles at video technology startups Sharethrough, Adapt.tv and Brightcove.

According to one report, Lynette Picconi-Kaylor -- named senior vice president and head of North American sales for Fubo in August 2022 --has  left the company.

Fubo had challenging advertising periods in the first half of this year, as many video advertising platforms did, yielding flat year over year results in the first and second quarters of 2023 -- $22.5 million and $23.1 million, respectively.

For all of 2022, FuboTV recorded $100 million in advertising sales.
