Sweet Success: Ghirardelli Chocolate Awards MullenLowe West Creative AOR

MullenLowe West has found its sweet spot — as creative AOR for Ghirardelli Chocolate.

The win follows a competitive pitch.

The California-based company, a premium chocolatier, was founded in 1852. Part of the agency's remit is to create a marketing vision that makes the brand stand out, while clicking with the evolving tastes of consumers.

“We are confident that with this partnership we will bring the joy of Ghirardelli chocolate to new people and new places,” said Bobby Oliver, vice president, head of marketing at the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company.

The relationship officially starts this month. MullenLowe will launch the brand's first 360 campaign next summer.

The assignment adds to the agency's successes this year. It scored the $454 million JAMRS contract with the U.S. Department of Defense, GEICO social, and global asset management firm, Invesco.

MullenLowe U.S. has offices in Boston, Los Angeles and New York and has done client work for Acura, Bayer, Corona, E*TRADE, Grey Goose and Hawaiian Airlines. The agency is owned by the Interpublic Group of Companies.

Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is the third-oldest chocolate company in the U.S. Ghirardelli generated sales of $727 million in 2022. Its parent company is Lindt & Sprüngli.
