Providing a taste of what will undoubtedly be much more cross-promotion between Disney+ and Hulu ahead, Hulu will concurrently stream the premiere episode of the new Disney+ series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” on Dec. 20.

The novel move, which follows the beta launch of a Hulu content hub on Disney+, appears to be aimed at encouraging consumers with Hulu-only subscriptions to sign up for Disney+. Disney has said that it will continue to offer standalone subscriptions to Hulu and Disney+.

Only the first episode will be shown on both services, and that episode will leave Hulu after Jan. 31. Disney+ subscribers will also get access to the second episode as of Dec. 20, along with more episodes to debut weekly thereafter.

The video series is based on the popular series of books for young adults authored by Rick Riordan.
