Suicide Squad Employs Snarky Spot To Promote Action-Shooter Game

Creative shop Battery has produced a live action spot "Just Us"for Warner Bros. Game’s Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. New playable characters come from DC's multiverse.

Set five years after the events of the Batman: Arkham Knight videogame, A.R.G.U.S. director Amanda Waller creates Task Force X – The Suicide Squad – to put a stop to Brainiac, who has invaded Earth. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox SeriesX|S and PC (Steam).

Featuring Will Arnett and Ron Funches, the action-packed snarky ad posits a group of anti-heroes, tapping into both the franchise's humor and its love of battling adversaries.

The spot is currently running across broadcast, digital and social. It debuted during last week's "Inside the NBA" on TNT and runs nationally on Feb. 2.

"Leaning in to the overall concept of the game in which the Suicide Squad has to save Metropolis from the Justice League, we highlighted the comedic talents of Will Arnett and Ron Funches to create something that is big, bold and fun,” Philip Khosid, co-founder-CCO, Battery, told Agency Daily.

Battery's client roster includes Royal Bank of Canada, Gran Coramino Tequila, Netflix and the Los Angeles Clippers.

If only they spent as much attention to the game's tech! It's an utter disaster, buggy beyond belief, so bad that Rocksteady was forced to take it offline and lock early buyers from the game's main bonus.

Combined with the games degenerate storylline that sees iconic heroes disgraced and murdered, with evil triumphant, news today is that player searches for "refund" are up nearly EIGHT HUNDRED PERCENT.

Already, there is talk that this game could prove such a disaster for Rocksteady that it may put the entire company out of business. Not sure why anybody thought there was a market for this sort of thing, but just another Sign O' The Times, I guess. Hopefully MediaPost will return to this subject when/if Rocksteady goes under.
