Fossil Group Consolidates Global Media With Stagwell's Assembly

Stagwell media agency Assembly has been appointed global integrated media agency for fashion accessory marketer Fossil Group after a competitive review process.

Assembly will consolidate Fossil Group's global integrated media efforts across paid, earned, and owned media channels, the companies confirmed.

Fossil Group media expenditures last year were an estimated $40 million, according to agency research firm COMvergence.

"Selecting Assembly as our new global media agency of record marks a significant moment in time for Fossil Group,” stated global CMO Lisa Pillette. “This partnership symbolizes a fresh chapter in our growth story. We are excited to leverage Assembly's expertise and insights to support our portfolio of brands and connect with consumers in more meaningful and engaging ways."

Fossil brands include Fossil, Michele, Relic, Skagen and Zodiac, and licensed brands, Armani Exchange, Diesel, DKNY, Emporio Armani, Kate Spade New York, Michael Kors and Tory Burch.

In March, Fossil Group announced that Kosta N. Kartsotis would step down from the CEO post and the company’s board. The move came after pressure from an investment group to make changes. Kartsotis will remain with the company in a transitional role until September 2024 and will provide consulting services to the firm for an additional year.

Jeffrey N. Boyer, the company’s executive vice president and chief operating officer has been appointed as Interim CEO and a member of the Board. The Board has retained an executive search firm to identify a permanent CEO.

In January, Fossil Group announced it was selling to Google intellectual property related to smartwatch technology for $40 million.
