Volkswagen Sticks With Omnicom's PHD Following Review


Omnicom’s PHD has retained Volkswagen Group’s global media account following a formal review, sources confirmed. 

The German auto giant spent an estimated $2.2 billion in measured media last year according agency research firm COMvergence.

PHD has held the account since unseating WPP’s Mediacom in 2016. The latter had the assignment for about 20 years.  

Omnicom and PHD declined to comment.  

A spokesperson for Volkswagen issued a statement: 

"The Volkswagen Group's media pitch has not yet been closed, as not all contractual matters have been finalized. We therefore ask for your understanding that we will only comment on the result once the contract has been finalized."

Volkswagen brands include the flagship Volkswagen fleet, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Škoda, Seat, Cupra, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsche and Ducati.
