Iris Worldwide has appointed Eduardo Maruri as global creative chair.
The United States will be a priority market among Iris’ network of 14 offices worldwide. Maruri is charged with overseeing new business pitches, attracting creative talent and setting ambitious goals for the agency.
He leads the network’s global creative council, which meets biweekly across various global offices, including Atlanta, London, Munich and San Francisco.
In 2016, Maruri Advertising, his agency in Ecuador, was sold to WPP and he was named President-CEO of Grey Latin America. Two years later, he became president-CEO of Grey Europe and vice president, Grey Global Creative Board.
Earlier this year, with his brother Fausto Maruri, he bought back Maruri Advertising from Grey/WPP and took the position of global CEO and creative chair. He will continue to run the agency alongside his role with Iris, as the two agencies explore synergies.
