Aussie Agency Society Opens Chicago Outpost

An independent Australian marketing agency has opened a U.S. office.

The 7-year-old female-founded Society has offices in Adelaide and Sydney. It works with a variety of clients, including Woolworths and Unilever Australia & New Zealand.

Society U.S. is based in Chicago and led by Katie Rosholt. She was previously vice president of global marketing at Vital Proteins and SVP, marketing at Pvolve.

Founder Dena Vassallo said the U.S. launch comes at a time when brands are looking for more authentic connections with consumers, despite a depleting attention economy. The expansion builds on the agency's "work hard, be kind" mantra.

"Clients choose us because we're built for business impact, regardless of budgets, and because we deeply understand the markets we serve."

Rosholt and Vassallo met nearly 20 years ago, working together at Edelman, Chicago in 2006.

“Chicago is the perfect location to begin our U.S. expansion, as it feels like coming home. I’m proud to have Katie leading our U.S. team and excited to see her years of brand and agency experience deliver a different way of thinking from traditional agencies,” Vassallo added.

Society U.S. currently works with U.S.-based brands across various sectors, including, Good Foods, Curtin Maritime and a leading personal finance and financial advice platform.
