Money, meet meditation. Ally Financial is partnering with mindfulness app Calm to help alleviate financial anxiety, offering over one million three-month Calm subscriptions for free as part of its “Money Roots” financial wellness program
The “collaboration with Calm will help us reward our customers who are investing in their wellbeing along with consumers everywhere who want to live more mindfully and find the joy in money,” Ally Chief Marketing and PR Officer Andrea Brimmer said in a release, also characterizing the collaboration as part of Ally’s focus on "working with likeminded brands to help people live their best lives.”
As part of the deal, new financial wellness content will appear on Calm, including a “Calm Conversation” with financial wellness coach and consultant Kelley Long, and Ally head of money wellness Jack Howard. Ally will also create a financial wellness playlist of Calm content featuring money-related meditations and daily mindfulness practices.

Ally fielded two surveys in May across a census-balanced population of 2,000 consumers, and claims it found financial anxiety to be the top driver of mental health challenges. Around two thirds reported that financial stress contributed to disruptions in their sleep (66%) or mental health (65%), while 52% cited impacts on their personal relationships.
The partnership with Calm follows Ally’s recent launch of “Money Roots,” its financial wellness education program rooted in “money psychology.”
