Communities In Schools has launched a new PSA highlighting the nationwide problem of student absenteeism in grades kindergarten through high school.
According to the group, 15 million kids are chronically absent from school in the U.S. due to homelessness, lack of daycare, transportation, bullying and other reasons.

The ad, titled, The Longest Roll Call, depicts young women and men taking attendance in empty schools across the country while a six-foot-tall “Longest Roll” with the names of 15 million absentee students barrels down a vacant school hallway and campus.
The creative work is from M&C Saatchi SS+K.
In addition to the spot, the effort includes PR. ABC’s Good Morning America did a segment on school absenteeism earlier this week.
