The tagline reads: "Movie Should Be Scary. Skincare Shouldn't
Be."
And who better to represent that sentiment than Sarah Michelle Gellar, the star of many horror films.
Only this time, she's featuring in an ad for Ultimate Miracle Worker Face & Neck Cream by Philosophy. The thrust: Not all retinol products — an ingredient found in anti-aging and wrinkle prevention brands — are scary.
The new "Rated R" campaign by Broken Seal just went live, and it appears on Gellar's posts on Philosophy's channels.
The multiplatform launch showcases the dermatologist-endorsed skincare brand. The campaign plays on Gellar's scary roles ("Scream 2," "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "The Grudge") to address the concern many consumers feel about incorporating retinol into their skincare routines.
