Ogilvy New York Names Canning, Spruce ECDs

Ogilvy New York tapped Kasia Canning and Cha Spruce as executive creative directors.

Canning will serve as ECD for New York-based clients. Spruce arrives as the agency’s first ECD for PR and social influence.

Canning joins Ogilvy from Maximum Effort, where she worked across a wide range of creative: Titan Casket, Ryan Reynold’s Aviation Gin and Blake Lively’s Betty Buzz and Betty Booze brands. 

Prior to Maximum Effort, Canning was an ECD at BBH New York. She also led teams at 72andSunny, Barton F. Graf and Johannes Leonardo.

Spruce joins Ogilvy from Wieden+Kennedy in Portland, helping to found and lead Bodega, the agency’s social-first creative studio. Client work includes Door Dash, Meta, Instagram, Samsung, Visa and the WNBA. 

Prior to W+K, Spruce directed the real-time social newsroom at iOne Digital and worked with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.
