Gladiator II' Fans Can View -- And Buy -- Real Props From Film's Set

]

 ‘Paramount Pictures is rolling out the marketing red carpet to promote “Gladiator II,” Ridley Scott’s upcoming sequel to his 2000 Academy Award-winning historical epic.

When the film opens Nov. 22, audiences at select locations will have a chance to see some of the key props and artifacts used in the film up close. Regal Cinemas will host the exhibits at select theaters including Times Square, Union Square, and Essex Crossing in New York City; Warrington and King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.; Red Rock in Las Vegas;  and Irvine Spectrum and LA Live in California.

In addition to being able to walk through the exhibit, fans will also have a chance to acquire some props, costumes, and other memorabilia from the film for themselves.

Ahead of the museum-style event activations, the campaign kicked off with a digital “Gladiator II” prop auction series hosted on The Realest, offering items that fans can buy now or bid on for future purchase. A “Roman Infantry Helmet” prop for the film, for example, is available to buy now for $499. The series includes flash auctions and “Premier” auctions, the first of which ends on Nov. 24, shortly after the movie makes its debut in theaters, and features a “Roman Helmet with Faux Lion Pelt” item which has a current bid of $190. Two further “Premier” auctions close on Dec. 2 and 8, and feature items like helmets and other costume elements used in the film.

The activation marks the latest in Paramount’s big marketing push behind the ‘Gladiator II’ release. Even Megan Thee Stallion got involved in the campaign to march the ‘Gladiator’ sequel to the top of the box office this holiday season. Back in September, she starred in the “Make Your Gameday Epic” ad paying homage to the original 2000 ‘Gladiator’ film for Pepsi. That collaborative campaign also included a "My Roman Empire" portrait generator tool, and in-store display activations.
