Thomas Doherty Promotes Tartan Style For Glenlivet

Glenlivet is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year — and it is also releasing a new campaign.

The Scotch single malt tapped Scottish actor Thomas Doherty ("Gossip Girl," "Descendants") as a brand ambassador to pitch the Speyside spirit this holiday season.

London-based agency Forsman & Bodenfors is responsible for bringing the master-brand campaign to life. Amber Grace Jonson directed the spot. Creative will be supported by a national media plan across CTV, social, digital and audio, as well as supported by strategic OOH and earned efforts within specific markets.

The Scotch whisky brand is “taking back tartan” in the new work, encouraging consumers to view Glenlivet as standing apart in taste and sensibility. The Glenlivet and Doherty are introducing new fashion-forward expressions of The Glenlivet tartan and
The Glenlivet Tartan Tini cocktail.

“What a gift it is to be Scottish. When I think about my heritage, I feel a deep sense of pride and connection to something much older and deeper than myself. It’s been so rewarding to work with The Glenlivet on this project that pays homage to the next generation of Scottish craftsmanship,” said Doherty, a native of Edinburgh, featured in the earned campaign.

Founded by George Smith in 1824, Glenlivet is owned by Pernod Ricard, which counts Jameson Irish Whiskey, Kahlúa Liqueur, Martell Cognac and Beefeater Gin among its brands.

Forsman & Bodenfors client work includes Volvo, Oatly, Visit Sweden and Seagram's 7.
