Chung Joins Boathouse As Chief Strategy Officer

Integrated marketing agency Boathouse named former Google executive, Sonia Chung as its first chief strategy officer.

Her charge is to manage how the agency applies AI and data, breaking down silos and enhancing growth. Her mandate is to build a model that connects paid, owned and earned media.

Before her hire, Chung held roles similar posts at Google and Salesforce. Earlier, she was vice president of digital marketing at Delaware North, the Boston-based hospitality and entertainment company.

Chung told People on the Move: “Marketing is at an inflection point. The rapid acceleration of AI, the fragmentation of platforms and the explosion of data are reshaping how decisions are made. At the same time, traditional models are losing impact and relevance. This creates a rare opportunity to rethink how marketing works  — moving beyond platform-first thinking and designing more integrated and growth-driven solutions. My focus is on building modern, AI-enabled capabilities that solve complex, cross-industry challenges to drive long-lasting impact for our clients.”

The agency, with offices in suburban Boston, has done work for Franklin Templeton, Mass General Brigham and Eversource
