Michelob Ultra Targets NBA Fans With 'Play Like A Pro'

 

 

One beer brand is giving its basketball fans a shot at the prize of a lifetime: the chance to “Play Like a Pro” on their favorite team’s court.

Michelob Ultra, the global beer sponsor of the NBA, teamed up with the Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks and Orlando Magic to offer a select few fans the chance to “play on some of the NBA’s most iconic courts and meet legendary players from around the league," according to the brand.

“With ‘Play Like A Pro’, Michelob Ultra isn’t just bringing fans closer to the game they love, but putting them at the center of it all with unprecedented access to their favorite courts and players,” said Ricardo Marques, senior vice president of marketing for Michelob Ultra, in the announcement.

To enter, fans can log on to michelobultra.com/courtside/playlikeapro beginning today, through Mar. 14. Each participating team will invite five 21+ winners and their plus-ones to play in the team arena and “enjoy a special experience alongside a former player from the franchise.”

The “Play Like A Pro” promotion is an extension of Michelob Ultra's ongoing NBA partnership, which also launched the “Play For An Ultra” campaign during Super Bowl LIX. The :30 campaign spot, seen here, featured  several celebrities including Willem Dafoe, Catherine O'Hara, Sabrina Ionescu, Randy Moss and Ryan Crouser competing in a vicious game of pickleball for a the “ultimate prize”: a Michelob Ultra.

Launched in 2001, Michelob Ultra just surpassed Bud Light as the #1 selling beer on draft in the U.S. in December, according to data from Draftline Technologies,  a company that monitors tap lines. According to parent Anheuser-Busch, Michelob Ultra currently holds 8.2% of the U.S. beer market as of the fourth quarter of 2025.
