Poll: More Americans Oppose Trump's Tariffs Than Support Them

It's no secret that many advertisers are worrying about the impact of tariffs on their businesses and are still trying to figure out their spending budgets for the year.

And now it seems a much larger swath of the general public is also concerned about the economy and how it’s impacting their personal financial situation.

A new survey from Stagwell’s Harris Poll and Harvard’s Center For American Studies finds that more Americans oppose Trump’s tariff program (47%) than support it (45%).

And 45% say their personal financial situation is becoming worse, up sharply from 41% in March and February. 39% expect the economy to grow worse in the next 12 months.

67% support the goal of cutting government spending by $1 trillion but most (55%) say Elon Musk and the Dept. Of Government Efficiency are going about it in the wrong way.

58% believe Musk should resign after his six-month special government employee status ends.
