Cadillac Partners With NFL's Christian McCaffrey

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is the latest celebrity to join Cadillac’s global brand ambassador program.

McCaffrey’s strong connection to California, where he lives and plays for his team, makes him the perfect ambassador to help Cadillac drive forward its mission to reach more consumers in this important market, according to the automaker.

“Brand ambassadors play an important role in reaching a broad audience and act as an extension of the brand, reflecting the same vision and values,” Cadillac CMO Melissa Grady Dias tells Marketing Daily. “Christian McCaffrey is an ideal ambassador because he has built a reputation that embodies the essence of Cadillac and is beloved by the same people that we believe would be proud to own a Cadillac.”

McCaffrey joins tennis star Frances Tiafoe as a Cadillac ambassador. They are the only two athletes currently serving as ambassadors of the General Motors luxury brand, Dias says.

The multiyear agreement begins with McCaffrey posting about the brand on his social media pages. As a brand ambassador, McCaffrey will have the opportunity to drive the latest Cadillac vehicles – he’s currently driving an Escalade, which is featured on his social media.

The star football player has touted other vehicle brands on his social media in years past, including an Aston Martin DB11. While Cadillac is now his daily vehicle, he is allowed to own other brands, according to the automaker.

McCaffrey also has been involved in a number of campaigns with Lowe’s, which has a long-standing partnership with the NFL.
