OBB Media Sets Up New York Offices

OBB Media, based in Los Angeles is setting up shop in New York with new offices in the Union Square neighborhood of Manhattan.

The firm, founded by Michael D. Ratner in 2016 has produced an array of programming and branded content but is perhaps best known for projects like A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter (Netflix), Demi Lovato’s directorial debut Child Star (Hulu), and the recent Peabody- and Emmy-nominated film Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa (Netflix).

The company’s commercial work and branded content is done via subsidiary studio Bolded. The studio has partnered with brands on series like Cold As Balls with Kevin Hart (Old Spice), Hailey Bieber’s Who’s In My Bathroom? (rhode), and Cards on the Table with Stanley Tucci (Allbirds), which have amassed more than 3 billion views collectively.

Bolded also does more traditional campaign work like the recent Speed Shopping (Dick’s Sporting Goods) March Madness spot.

In line with the expansion, three OBB Media staffers--Elias Tanner, Kfir Goldberg, and Simone Spira--have been elevated to senior executive roles. All three are tasked with leading key projects across both Los Angeles and New York.

And if you’re wondering, OBB stands for Original, Big and Bold. Ratner’s brother Scott is credited as co-founder and Chief Operating Officer. Their dad, Hank, ran MSG for a time and was a longtime AMC Networks executive before that.
