Sandals Suggests Giving Mom Her Own 'Nap Nook'

This Mother’s Day, moms would rather just have a nice nap.

That’s according to Sandals Resorts, the Caribbean-based, adults-only resort brand. Sandals Institute of Romance recently surveyed more than 600 moms, some 94% of whom agreed that getting more sleep would benefit their families. Over half of moms surveyed said an uninterrupted nap was the ultimate luxury, and 60% said they’d trade gifts for sleep.

So Sandals launched a Mother’s Day campaign offering moms a “nap nook” at select resort locations.

What connects the brand to the phenomenon?

According to the survey, around two-thirds of moms said they sleep better on vacation, and half of moms cited hotel beds as their top nap spot.

During Mother’s Day weekend, select Sandals resorts — including Sandals Regency La Toc in St. Lucia, Sandals Royal Curaçao, and Sandals South Coast in Jamaica — will introduce the nap nooks, described in a release as “cozy, private spaces reserved just for moms to relax and recharge.” The release also noted the brand’s year-round sleep-enhancing amenities, like Red Lane Spa’s massages featuring CBD, lavender, and Himalayan salt stones.

The brand promoted “Sandals Mom Nap -- The Ultimate Mother’s  Day Amenity” on its social channels, including an Instagram post reading: “The world’s first Mom Nap amenity is here, just in time for Mother’s Day. The question is, which bookable nap nook suits her best? Swipe to choose!”

"No one needs a tutorial on how to nap, especially in a hammock hugged by the Caribbean breeze, but by creating this experience, we're letting moms know we are thinking of them. It's about carving out space to rest, recharge and feel cared for, as they deserve," Sandals Resorts Chief Experience Officer Jessica Shannon said in a statement.
