Remy Martin’s microgrant initiative for creatives who contribute to community and culture in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit and New York City has now been expanded nationwide.
Remy Martin launched its V.S.O.P (Very Superior Old Pale) "This is My City Microgrant Initiative” earlier this year to “celebrate the next generation of cultural changemakers shaping their communities through innovation and purpose.” The program is now open to applicants nationwide, and awards visionary creatives with a $20,000 grant and personalized mentorship. Creatives from many disciplines are included, such as visual artists, designers, musicians, curators, entrepreneurs and storytellers. A community can also nominate individuals.
"The microgrant was created to honor entrepreneurs that drive culture in their cities, and whose creativity and vision impact embody the spirit of Rémy Martin," said Tonia Mancino, vice president of luxury brands at Rémy Cointreau Americas, in the press release. "[This initiative] reflects our continued commitment to legacy, excellence and uplifting the next generation of creative entrepreneurs."

DJ Suss One has joined as a national mentor for the program, lending his expertise gained from the New York music and radio scene. Additional mentors include radio personality Angie Martinez.
Beginning this fall, Remy Martin will hold pop-up events around the country featuring “mentors, community celebrations and local artistry.” In addition to cocktails, the brand will be serving up custom merchandise created though a collaboration with sports apparel designer Jon Stan.
“This is My City” applicants can find more information on the brand’s website. Winners, to be announced in August, will be selected “based on their contributions to culture, innovation and originality, with a focus on work that shapes conversations in their industry and community, pushes boundaries, and displays unique style and authenticity.”
Rémy Martin is promoting the program on social media as well as with limited edition V.S.O.P “This is My City” bottles available in Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago and New York City, among other locations.
