ESPN Announcers Lee Corso, Desmond Howard Hype Samsung's TV Setup

Coach Lee Corso may be retiring as an announcer for ESPN college football programming after almost four decades, but he’s still got plenty of football to watch.

In a new Samsung ad, Corso is gifted the “ultimate fan-worthy" Samsung TV setup by longtime announcing partner Desmond Howard..

Fans “helped pick out what we’d be putting in the space -- including not only the super big Samsung TV, but the neon sign with [Corso's} catchphrase, his larger-than-life pencils fully stocked, and even a portrait of that pesky bulldog that followed Coach around in his career” (a nod to Corso calling the Georgia Bulldogs’ mascot ugly back in 2023), according to Sukhmani Mohta, CMO for Samsung’s home entertainment division, in a release.

The campaign promotes a version of the setup available for sale as well, with fans given the opportunity to order the package, built around the Samsung Neo QLED 4K TV for 50% off with the discount code “TVLIKELEE” through kickoff on Sept. 7.

Campaign content is running across channels including Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube and Instagram, with a 30-second version of the video ad running with paid promotion on Meta channels in collaboration with Howard’s channel. Samsung also partnered with influencers including Rece Davis, Scooter Magruder, Josh Mancuso, and Janerika Owens as part of the campaign.
