NBC News Defends Journalistic Integrity In New TV Spot

NBC News has launched an ad campaign aimed at reversing declining trust in news media, Deadline reports.

The effort, which debuted on Monday, features a 60-second spot highlighting the network’s “facts,” “clarity” and “calm,” Deadline adds.

The spot features “ordinary Americans” expressing such views as “I turned off news altogether,” “It’s all bull-s---,” and “I’m looking for some facts first.” It also shows images of NBC newscasters.

“Over the past few months, we’ve been listening closely to Americans, and what we’ve heard is clear,” said Cesar Conde, chairman of NBC Universal News Group, in a memo to employees, according to Deadline. “People are not disinterested in news. Rather, they are hungry for civil discourse and trustworthy reporting that can empower them to make up their own minds. Exactly what NBC News stands for.”

    Yeahhhhhh.....good luck with that.

Remember CNN's much-mocked "This is a banana" campaign? How about the New York Times award-winning/self-owning "The Truth Is Hard"?

You can't market your way out of a reputation as a liar, NBC. You can only start telling the Truth. Take it from me!
