IPG has restructured one of its big Hollywood PR
agencies—R&CPMK—as part of a streamlining effort at the holding company. A spokesperson characterized the move as part of IPG’s own business
transformation process and one that is not connected to the firm’s pending acquisition by Omnicom.
The agency is being reduced in scope and the R&CPMK
name is being retired, and the agency will continue as Rogers & Cowan, which the spokesperson characterized as “a modern and contemporary offering serving
clients across entertainment and sports within IPG.”

The restructured agency will have approximately 25 staffers.
IPG had previously moved certain parts of
R&CPMK’s business into other areas of IPG’s portfolio, including Talent & Influencers and two integrated client teams, including one for
client McDonald’s.
As part of the restructuring, about 75 staffers including former R&CPMK CEO Cindi Berger and president Alan
Nierob along with dozens of clients, are leaving IPG to join marketing group ACC. IPG confirmed it supported the shift.
At ACC, about 35 of
those staffers are forming a new entity called PMK Entertainment that is being led by Berger as CEO. She will report to ACC founder/CEO Michael Nyman. The two executives previously
worked together at IPG as co-CEOs of a previous iteration of R&CPMK known as PMK*BNC. Neirob will serve as president at PMK Entertainment.
It is focused
on representing “A-list” talent, as well as music, sports and content companies and other activities. It will represent A-listers such as Denzel
Washington, Hugh Jackman, Kevin Costner and others.
The newly formed unit also represents the Grammy Awards, Tribeca Festival, The Paley Center, The Rooftop at
Pier 17, Edge and Vessel at Hudson Yards, Angel Studios and The X Games.
“This is a full-circle moment that reflects the power of our model,” said Nyman,
who noted that he and most of ACC’s executive leadership came from PMK*BNC. Nyman left to form ACC in 2018.
“I’m proud to be reuniting with Michael Nyman and ACC for our
next chapter,” said Berger. “With PMK Entertainment, we are giving a nod to our shared legacy while taking a future-forward approach to entertainment and marketing.”
Other
ex-R&CPMK staffers joining ACC will be aligned with ACC units Advisory and DKC.
