Adamski To Lead Omnicom Media, Ruhanen To Oversee Creative

Florian Adamski, who has led Omnicom Media Group since 2021, will continue to lead Omnicom’s media operations—including those just acquired from IPG, the company announced today in its release outlining its new leadership team.

In addition to OMD, PHD and Hearts & Science, Adamski now oversees the former IPG Mediabrands agencies Initiative, Mediahub, UM and IPG’s data and identity firm Acxiom.

Before he was promoted to CEO Omnicom Media Group, Adamski was global CEO of OMD Worldwide and earlier led OMD’s operations in Germany.

Omnicom did not spell out in its release today if there would be individuals leading its media agency brands or what their titles would be.

It did say the media agencies, which combined create the largest single network in the industry, will be powered by the former IPG’s Acxiom RealID and advanced ID-less solutions—that will “unify paid, owned, earned, and commerce channels into a seamless system that drives value, precision, and measurable growth in a privacy-first world.”

The company also announced that Troy Ruhanen will lead the combined company’s creative agency operations as CEO, Omnicom Advertising, which includes BBDO, McCann, TBWA, and the U.S. Advertising Collective.

Omnicom last year created the Omnicom Advertising Group, and appointed Ruhanen—the longtime TBWA leader—to oversee it. That brought together BBDO, DDB, and TBWA under a single leadership structure to share resources, technology, and AI investments.

Three global agency brands—Omnicom’s DDB and IPG’s FCB and MullenLowe—are being retired. DDB operations are being folded into TBWA and FCB operations are being folded into BBDO.

According to reports, Omnicom is cutting 4,000 jobs as part of the agency restructuring. Those job cuts follow 3,200 layoffs at IPG through the first nine months of the year, according to the firm’s third quarter earnings report (its last earnings report as a public company) filed last month.

The US Advertising Collective includes smaller agencies such as Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, GSD&M, Merkley+Partners, and Zimmerman Advertising, among others.

The holding company also highlighted others in new leadership roles:

  • Chris Foster, CEO, Omnicom Public Relations, including FleishmanHillard, Golin, Ketchum, Porter Novelli, and Weber Shandwick

  • Sergio Lopez, CEO, Omnicom Production, including Content Solutions, Production Management, and Studios

  • Duncan Painter, CEO, Omni and Flywheel Commerce Network, featuring Omni, the advanced intelligence platform that will power all capabilities, and Flywheel, the market-leading commerce group

  • Michael Larson, CEO, Diversified Agency Services, with reports including:

  • Dana Maiman, CEO, Omnicom Health, including Healthcare Professional & Consumer, Medical Communications, Patient Engagement, and Managed Markets

  • Mark O'Brien, CEO, Omnicom Branding, including Interbrand, Siegel+Gale, Sterling Brands, and Wolff Olins

  • Luke Taylor, CEO, Omnicom Precision Marketing, including Credera, Critical Mass, and RAPP

The firm also outlined a new client-focused leadership team:

Omnicom's client success leaders—led by Jacki Kelley, chief client & business officer, and Andrea Lennon, client experience officer—will have senior accountability across all Connected Capabilities, providing holistic, tailored solutions for individual client strategies and KPIs to enable client success.

Omnicom's global growth team—led by George Manas, chief growth and solutions officer—will ensure an integrated, enterprise-level view on client needs and innovative solutions across new business development. Manas will transition from his current role leading OMD Worldwide effective February 1, 2026.

As previously announced, John Wren continues as chairman & CEO, Phil Angelastro serves as EVP & CFO, and Philippe Krakowsky and Daryl Simm serve as co-presidents and COOs.

In January, Omnicom said it will unveil the “new Omnicom,” along with the launch of the next generation of Omni, at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The company also said it would schedule an investor day shortly after its year-end results are released in February.
