The line between email and SMS has become thinner, thanks to a new
Gmail add-on being offered by Red Oxygen, a short message service (SMS) provider.
The add-on allows brands to send and receive text messages from their Gmail inbox.
This enables
sales, support, scheduling and operations teams to send appointment reminders, service updates and quick replies to customers directly from Gmail.
ed Oxygen is the parent company of
CompleteSMS, a texting platform that enables two-way business texting, individually and in bulk.
"Our Gmail customers are looking for more convenience right in their inbox,” says Tom
Sheahan, CEO and co-founder of Red Oxygen, in a statement.
Sheahan adds: "Users will have a record of sent messages within their sent folder and have their replies show up in their Gmail
inbox, too,” says Sheahan in a statement.

The add-on “works on your existing framework and allows for more immediate results with SMS,” Sheahan says.
In
addition, the add-on will enable users to access existing Gmail contacts and groups while adding multiple signature templates.
The installation does not require a developer, and it is
compatible with the Gmail phone app.
Current CompleteSMS account holders can begin sending messages once the add-on is installed, and new customers can begin a free trial after
installation.
The add-on is available through the Google Workspace Marketplace.
The CompleteSMS platform was launched several months ago by Red Oxygen.
