Ooma is addressing a less-than-sexy ad topic: the slow, expensive
death of copper phone lines, which powers everything from elevator phones to fire panels to emergency call boxes. However, due to high maintenance costs, they are being phased out.
Ooma’s AirDial solution, a cloud-based system, offers a modern, cost-effective replacement.
The telecom platform released its “Copper Isn’t Sexy” 2026 pin-up
calendar to supply an off-kilter twist to the subject. It features The Copper Monster, first introduced in 2023 as the image of outdated phone-line technology. There's even an R&B slow jam to accompany the campaign.
Created by Agency SOS, the copper-monster images will be released as digital assets
throughout the year, primarily on LinkedIn and email marketing. They will also be used at a variety of trade shows and channel partner events throughout 2026, including the National Associate of
Elevator Contractors (NAEC), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Channel Partners Conference & Expo.

“We know
these infrastructure conversations aren’t exactly sexy,” said Jim Gustke, SVP, marketing at Ooma, “but saving money with Ooma AirDial is.”
“B2B advertising
doesn’t have to be boring,” added John Kovacevich, creative director at Agency SOS. “These calendars play off the classic pin-ups of the 1930s and 40s — except our monster is a
try-hard ham who has absolutely no business being seductive. Which is exactly why he’s perfect.”
