Matthew McConaughey's Uber Eats Super Bowl Teaser Not A Fan Favorite

'Tis the season for vague Super Bowl teaser spots ending with the date of the “Big Game.”

But the 30-second Uber Eats spot called “Jogging” isn’t winning any awards.

“On paper, an advert with Matthew McConaughey and Bradley Cooper sounds like a dream,” according to Reality Tea. “But, according to the majority of NFL fans, a new Uber Eats advert starring the two Hollywood heartthrobs is anything but. In the advert, iconic actor Matthew drives a pickup truck down the street, following Bradley, who is running alongside it. Bradley does his best to ignore Matthew, who proceeds to repeatedly shout 'food' in various intonations.”

The teaser broke during the Jan. 25  AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos.

“McConaughey, 56, continued his sidegig as the face of Uber Eats and subsequently kicked off a friendly rivalry with Bradley Cooper,” according to US. “The 30-second commercial featured McConaughey driving a pickup truck alongside Cooper, 51, who was running on the street in a Philadelphia Eagles hat.”

McConaughey yells “food” more than 10 times, changing the cadence in his voice with each delivery.

“Don’t you have somewhere else to —,” Cooper started to ask before McConaughey cut him off with a rather loud “food” yell.

“It’s all food, Bradley,” McConaughey screamed as the commercial came to an end.

“The 2026 campaign marks a sixth consecutive run for Uber Eats on advertising's biggest stage, which has made a splash in the national block with eclectic casting choices, from Cardi B, Dana Carvey and Mike Myers to Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer to McConaughey and Martha Stewart,” according to USA Today's Ad Meter. “Cooper has already played a prominent role in several campaign spots this year, prompting plenty of commercial sleuths to consider his presence on Super Bowl Sunday.”

Viewers have been quick to sound off on social media about their disdain for the teaser.

“This @UberEats commercial is just awful and so annoying,” said @HylianHero on X. “I’d like to congratulate @UberEats on devising the most annoying commercial I’ve ever seen in my life,” agreed @ABSoundtrack “McConaughey Uber Eats commercial is so irritating it makes me want to throw my TV through the wall,” wrote @PredsThreads.

Another teaser spot called “Interrogation” featuring McConaughey isn’t drawing quite as much criticism.

“In another clip, the 'Dazed and Confused' star takes it upon himself to interrogate Sourdough Sam, the San Francisco 49ers mascot,” according to People

The 49ers' Levi Stadium will be home to the Super Bowl this year.

"A goldminer mascot who just so happens to be named after...food!" McConaughey says dramatically. "You're part of this whole thing, aren't you? Football's one big ploy to sell food."

The mascot remains silent despite the actor's interrogation. "Best come clean, or you're toast," McConaughey says.
