The Golden Arches is jumping on the high-low viral food
trend this Feb. 14.
McDonald’s this week announced a new, unexpected highbrow Valentine’s promotion for the fast food chain; McNugget Caviar kits.
The concept of Chicken
McNuggets topped with caviar doesn't come out of the blue. Back in Aug. 2025 at the U.S. Open, New York-based Korean friend chicken restaurant COQODAQ sold six nuggets topped with Petrossian caviar,
creme fraiche and chives for a whopping $100 price tag.
The trend towards high-low food parings (such as truffle-loaded chips, foie gras burgers or caviar and chicken nuggets ) has been
popular on social media for the past couple years.
Inspired by the pricey high-low dish, McDonald’s has taken a more promotional approach to the McNugget Caviar kits, dropping them for
no charge exclusively at McNuggetCaviar.com on Tues. Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. EST. Fans presumably will have to hurry to get their free kits, since the chain says “a limited number are
available while supplies last.”

Each kit includes a one ounce tin of premium Baerii Sturgeon Caviar, $25 Arch Card, crème fraîche and a Mother of Pearl caviar spoon for
serving.
The salty fish roe is provided as part of the brand’s partnership with Paramount Caviar, which is a top producer of caviar in the U.S.
McDonald’s is promoting the
McNugget Caviar kits via its social media platforms at Instagram, TikTok, X and Facebook.
Last Valentine’s Day McDonald’s Australia released the limited edition Stanley-esque
Grimace Tumbler, which was a purple, insulated cup with a yellow lid designed with the character’s face on it. U.S. fans took to social media to complain about the tumbler’s lack of
availability in the U.S. The last big U.S. McDonald’s Valentine’s Day promotion was the launch of the Cardi B and Offset Meal in 2023.
