Mekanism Introduces Alaska Airlines' Global Reach

Alaska Airlines isn't just a regional carrier. It wants the public to know it offers global routes and upscale lie-flat suites on its 787 Dreamliner.

That message, which debuted in a Super Bowl spot, “Welcome to Alaska Airlines,” is part of an ongoing media plan. Set to “Walking on a Dream” by Empire of the Sun, the ad transports audiences to London and Rome dreamscapes, utilizing CG and AI.

The brand's AOR, Mekanism, is producing all creative. There are also ads that highlight Seattle, Portland and San Diego. The agency will update the campaign throughout the year.

The work runs across broadcast, linear, social, out-of-home, digital display, airing regionally across the West Coast and Hawaii. Eric Edge, vice president, brand and marketing at Alaska Airlines, says the increased service means “2026 is a transformational year” for the airline, which added Atmos Rewards, a new global loyalty program.

“We wanted to create a world that not only gets people excited about travel, but reflects cultural and travel trends in the markets we’re focused on,” added Rob Kleckner, group creative director at Mekanism. “I love this campaign because it can keep evolving, blending real people and products with a dream-like world we can refresh at the speed of culture.”

Mekanism's creative work also includes Frida Mom, NBA, OKCupid, Amtrak and Joe Cuervo.
