All Eligible Snap Creators Can Now Offer Subscriptions

Following an initial testing round with Snapchat's top-performing creators (i.e. “Snap Stars”), the social media company has officially expanded its Creator Subscription offering to all eligible Snapchat creators across the globe.

Unlike Snapchat+, the company's user-based premium subscription program grew 71% year-over-year in 2025, the Creator Subscription program is designed to help creators gain more control over the monetization of their own content.

The program invites creators to set their own monthly pricing for subscriber-only Snaps and Stories, as well as replies to publicly posted Stories and an ad-free experience within their Stories.

The program's global expansion was announced at the Snappy's Awards Show on Monday night, with Snap stating that any user who qualifies for a Snapchat Creator Account can enable subscriptions.

According to the company, creators must have a Public Profile, must be “an active poster to their Stories and Spotlight,” and have “grown an audience” on the app.

Although these parameters are vague, new findings from Snap show that Spotlight – the app's short-form video feed – is essential to growing a following, as creators who post daily to Spotlight have grown followers 10x faster than those who do not. And it is becoming a more popular Snap tab, with 33% more creators posting to Spotlight year-over-year.

In the testing phase of Creator Subscriptions, creators monetizing through the new program received about 60% of revenue from the subscription price, as well as performance data to help them fine-tune their content strategies.

The program builds on existing monetization options designed for Snap creators, including the company's Snap Star Collab Studio, which offers exclusive features to high-profile creators and public figures.
