Domino’s is celebrating the arrival of the World Cup with $1
million in free “emergency pizzas” and co-branded soccer merch.
The first match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is June 11 in Mexico City. If at any time during the tournament, which
runs through July 19, a player from the U.S. team receives a “red card,” Domino’s will give away $1 million worth of “emergency pizzas” as consolation.
The
“red card” is considered the most severe disciplinary penalty soccer players can receive, which results not only in their immediate ejection from the game, but also an automatic suspension
for future matches as well.
“Whether you're planning to watch all the matches or perhaps you're playing pickup games of your own, Domino's has some fun ways to help you get ready,”
said Kate Trumbull, Domino's executive vice president and CMO. “Soccer gurus know the worst thing to happen in a game is for a player on the team you're rooting for to receive a red card. If
that happens to the American squad, Domino's is here to help ease the pain by giving away Emergency Pizzas. It may not change the outcome of the match, but it can provide a delicious pick-me-up when
it's needed most.”

Domino’s has also teamed up with xyz Saturdays Football on a line of limited edition co-branded merch, including jerseys, a cap and slides, which is now
available at saturdaysfootball.com/dominos.
In order to get a chance at a free Emergency Pizza, customers have to register at dominos.com/emergency-pizzas-for-soccer on June 10. If a U.S. team player get a red card, the brand will randomly select over 60,000
winners to receive a free medium, two-topping pizza. All winners must be enrolled in Domino's Rewards, and must redeem their free pizza by Aug. 2.
A ”red card” isn’t the only
way to get a free pizza; Domino’s has also teamed up with EA Sports FC 26 to give players 75,000 free emergency pizzas. On Fridays between now and June 5, the brand will give away a unique promo
code within the game to randomly selected players, which is good for a medium two-topping pizza.
