McDonald’s is promoting the release of
its new specialty drinks beverage menu with a collab that pays homage to a popular NBA player along with a color that reflects his home state.
This week the brand announced the release of the
Nike Book 2 McDonald's, a limited-edition sneaker designed by the NBA’s Devin Booker, shooting guard for the Phoenix Suns. The low-profile design by Booker, who began his basketball career
as a McDonald's All American alum before joining the NBA, features an Air Zoom unit, Cushlon 3.0 midsole, foam sock liner and a “modernized” molded upper.
The shoe is available in
two versions. The limited “Friends and Family” edition is only available via the Nike Book 2 McDonald's Friends & Family sweepstakes on the McDonald's App, taking place from May 22-28.
A second version will be available for purchase on June 2 on Nike.com, at partner shoe retailers as well as in the Nike App.

Both versions feature the color turquoise, representative of the
Sedona, Arizona McDonald’s, which is the only location in the world with turquoise arches, rather than the chain’s standard Golden Arches, as tribute to Arizona’s stunning
scenery.
In order to qualify to win the “Friends and Family” edition, customers must download the McDonald’s app, and unlock the sweepstakes bonus in the Rewards & Deals
section through purchasing one of six new specialty drinks. The options include Dirty Dr Pepper, Orange Dream, Sprite Berry Blast, Blackberry Passion Fruit Refresher, Strawberry Watermelon Refresher
or the Mango Pineapple Refresher.
Consumers will also get an opportunity to purchase the shoes in person ahead of the Nike.com drop via a yet-to-be-announced one day pop-up, details of which
will soon be posted across McDonald's, Devin Booker and Nike socials.
