Truly Bets $5M On U.S. World Cup Victory With Fan Giveaway

As many U.S. brands support the U.S. Men’s National Team during the World Cup, one RTD hard seltzer is actually betting $5 million on Americans taking the championship.

Truly Hard Seltzer, which is the official hard seltzer of U.S. Soccer, has launched a $5 million giveaway for one lucky U.S. fan “who believes as much as Truly does.”

Fans 21+ can enter to win through posting a photo or video on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or X “showing how much [they] believe in U.S. Soccer with a Truly x U.S. Soccer can or pack.” The post must be tagged @Truly with #TrulyBelieves. The promotion will run as long as the U.S. continues to advance in the tournament through July.

If the U.S. emerges as the victor for the World Cup, a $5 million prize will be awarded to “one lucky believer.” That believer will also receive a personalized Truly can with their own face featured on a brand-new custom label to commemorate the win.

The $5 million promotion is an extension of the Truly’s ongoing “Drink Like a Believer” World Cup campaign. As part of the effort the brand launched a search for the city with the most ardent soccer fans, recently awarding the City of Hoboken, New Jersey the name of Believe, USA, for the duration of the tournament. The city has since become the home of the “Truly Believe Bar,”  an “American clubhouse” with wall-to-wall jerseys, flags, signed memorabilia and more provided by U.S. Soccer, as well as a working tattoo station offering Believe-inspired ink and specialty merch.

“This summer is about more than the matches themselves. It's about the communities, traditions, and fans that make soccer such an important part of people's lives,” said David Wright, chief commercial officer at U.S. Soccer, in a release.“As this summer's tournament comes to our doorstep, we're seeing more people connect with the game and with each other. The Truly Believe Bar creates a place for fans to come together and be part of that experience.”

Truly will also make a donation to the Hoboken Business Alliance to support small businesses, restaurants and bars, “ensuring the spirit of Believe, USA leaves a lasting mark on the community long after the final whistle.”
