-- single platforms, high-profile series, and different bundles?
“Many viewers are canceling, downgrading, and cycling in and out of subscriptions," according to a new study by
Reviews.org.
Recent research shows 55% have “re-subscribed to services they previously canceled.”
Also, 52% have cancelled or downgraded because of a price hike. In a
related data point: 38% switched to ad-supported from ad-free in the past year.
That’s why the entropy of the business has resulted in consumers seemingly switching around a lot,
according to analysts.
This is in addition to normal departures of subscribers when it comes after consuming the most recent season of their favorite show.
Review.org says 48% of
viewers subscribed for one show and then canceled.

Looking ahead, 43% say they are likely to cancel at least one service in the next three months.
In response to higher subscription
monthly costs, 37% said they turn to over-the-air antennas to watch local channels, while 41% say they receive all available local broadcast channels and 44% say they get most but not all
channels.
In other related issues, 40% said they have never shared a streaming service password, and were not concerned about platforms limiting the sharing of passwords.

surveyed 1,000 Americans about their streaming habits. It did not disclose the time period for the survey.
