Paramount, which has a deal to buy Warner Bros. Discovery for $81 billion, has discussed creating an editorial board for CNN to ease fears about its journalistic
independence after the merger, The Wall Street Journal reports. California and 11 other states have filed an antitrust lawsuit, claiming that the deal would give one company too much
power over theatrical movie distribution and cable television. The discussions began prior to filing of the lawsuit. “We always remain open
to internal improvements to journalistic integrity,” Paramount said in a statement.
