Martha Stewart, the grand dame of
marketing and lifestyle branding, has recent appeared in conjunction with three high-profile brands: Starbucks, Waymo and Kohl's.
It’s (almost) fall, aka pumpkin spice
everything season, and Starbucks is back to peddling its Pumpkin spice latte.
“The PSL has developed deeper lifestyle associations and a place in online meme culture, with
content frequently knocking the limited-time offering as a sign that the drinker is ‘basic, or has cookie-cutter taste,” according to Marketing Dive. “
For its latest campaign around
the PSL, Starbucks posits that basic isn’t necessarily a bad thing, with Stewart — whom the release describes as ‘the queen of fall and keeping it real’ — as the
message’s mouthpiece.”

The PSL returned to stores Auguar 25.
“Oh, Pumpkin Spice Latte? The drink that makes us all a little more basic?”
Stewart asks in the video. “This smells like my house in the fall. It’s perfect.”
Stewart also
has been promoting Waymo’s Ojai offering in a 60-second social clip.
“She walks through the cabin of the company's newest vehicle the way she'd walk a magazine crew through a guest cottage, gesturing at the seats and the screens and talking up 'what
makes this cabin special'," according to Backfire News.
“The car is called the Ojai, and despite what the name suggests, it isn’t a nod to the Southern California town so much as a design philosophy Waymo has pushed since 2021: build something
closer to a lounge than a car. It’s the company’s first vehicle built from scratch specifically for autonomous ride-hailing, rather than adapted from something that already
existed.”
Finally, Kohl’s is introducing new Martha Stewart products.
“The Martha Stewart lineup includes core kitchen electrics, including
mixers, griddles, slow cookers and milk frothers, among other products,” according
to Retail Dive. “Additionally, Martha Stewart is expanding into home fragrance with a collection of candles.”
As the saying goes, we all have bills to pay -- even
the mighty Martha.
