Forget the trendy baguette handbags seen on fashion runways for
winter. Burger King recently debuted Le Nugguette: a nugget-shaped micro-bag that’s already sold out multiple drops.
Launched to coincide with New York Fashion Week and to promote the burger
chain’s newly revamped chicken nuggets, Le Nugguette comes with four bag charms inspired by the brand’s new sauce line. These are the Special Savory Sauce, as well as Honey Mustard,
Buffalo and Sweet & Sour. Sold for $3.99 (the same price as the nuggets), the bag also comes with a code good for a four-piece order.
“We love taking something unexpected and
giving it a Burger King twist while tapping into culture,” Burger King’s Vice President of Marketing Communications Allie Smith told Marketing Daily. “Micro bags are having a
moment right now, [which] happened to coincide with our new nugget launch. With Le Nugguette, we saw the perfect opportunity to playfully lean into the micro-bag trend and reach a new
audience.”

The brand released the bags here, dropping 100 per day from Sept. 12–16. Each day they sold out within seconds. Many consumers
unable to secure the bag took to social media to complain about the limited drops, according to a report by USA Today.
“We’re thrilled that guests are so eager to get their
hands on the Le Nugguette … [they] are loving the playful connection between the new and elevated chicken nuggets and their high-fashion treatment. And Le Nugguette wouldn't have been born
without guest feedback -- that’s the whole reason we decided to revamp our nuggets,” added Smith.
Creative agency Mojo Supermarket worked with Burger King to craft Le
Nugguette.
