Snoopy Lovers Rejoice Over Starbucks, Macy's Tie-Ins

Snoopy (and Woodstock!) are getting their 15 minutes of fame and then some this week.

Starbucks launched a 10-piece Peanuts collection in stores worldwide. The centerpiece was a $39.95 Snoopy glass cold cup with a Woodstock straw topper, a pumpkin-colored hat, and a green scarf.

“Shoppers lined up before 4 a.m.,” according to Inc. “Many stores sold out the same day. By the next morning, ‘Starbucks Snoopy’ ranked among the top Google searches in the country, according to Google Trends data."

The cup is reselling for up to $200 on StockX, $249 on Mercari and $290 on eBay.

“Customers’ willingness to pay up for the drinkware shows how Starbucks is borrowing the playbook of sneaker and streetwear brands using merchandise drops to increase sales,” according to The Business Times. “Restoring the brand’s cultural cachet has been a key goal of chief executive Brian Niccol’s turnaround plan since he joined in late 2024, as a way to boost traffic without relying on discounts.”

Snoopy is also coming to Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Snoopy's Joe Cool and Woodstock will appear as a giant balloon in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade's 100th march, according to USA Today

The balloon debuted Wednesday morning at Gansevoort Plaza in Manhattan.

“Macy's officials said his sunglasses are about 40 times the size of a normal pair, and he would need a doghouse about 45 feet high to fit inside,” according to CBS News. “Snoopy and Woodstock have long been a staple of the annual parade. In 2025, the balloon was Beagle Scout Snoopy."

Meanwhile, a free exhibit celebrating the comic by Charles M. Schulz runs through Sept. 26 in the Meatpacking District, according to CBS News. "Snoopy in Style NYC" features a collection of one-of-a-kind Snoopy and Woodstock plush dolls and rare archival pieces highlighting Schulz and his influence on pop culture, fashion, sports and music.
