Stagwell said today that it has increased its
investment in Real Clear Holdings, publisher of Real Clear Politics and other news and analysis sites. The firms didn’t divulge how much of the company Stagwell now owns. Two years ago it
purchased a 37.5% stake in the RCH.
The further investment is designed to help expand the company, which also announced the hires of two senior executives: Jared Smith as
president and Kristen Elliott as Head of Commercial.

Smith previously served as a senior executive at Yahoo, AOL, WWE, and HuffPost and will report to RCH co-founder John McIntyre.
Elliott most recently
was Chief Revenue Officer at My Code and previously was head of revenue at Kargo.
McIntyre said more investment from Stagwell and the addition of Smith and Elliott "will empower us to accelerate
our plans to reach new audiences with innovative products and content.”
From Stagwell’s end, the investment is managed by Ben Berentson, CEO of Owned Media. “We see tremendous
opportunity to build on [RCH’s] foundation and create something truly distinctive as we head into the next election supercycle,” he said.
