Plenty of people recognize Henkel’s
Snuggle fabric care products by that cuddly stuffed bear mascot, wrapped in a soft blue blanket. Given the world’s current stress levels, the brand has decided that bear could use a hand. So
it’s drafted Linus from the beloved Peanuts universe.
The new brand campaign arrives as the marketing world approaches peak Peanuts. Brands as diverse as Starbucks, Ugg, Tommy Hilfiger
and Duncan Hines are out with new partnerships after a change in the Peanuts franchise's ownership structure.
The Snuggle effort also comes as the fragrance wars continue to shape fabric
care, with brands like Downy, Gain and Bounce routinely introducing new scents.
The new ads are themed “Must be the scent of
Snuggle,” and Allison Feldman, vice president of marketing, hopes the effort will drive new levels of trial and awareness by linking the two multigenerational brands and reminding consumers
of a soothing combination of softness, scent and cozy nostalgia. “In today's society, there's so much stress, and people are looking for comfort -- that’s the No. 1 thing they want. We
want them to know that if they use Snuggle, they can get that comfort from fabric softener.”

The campaign promotes Snuggle’s iconic Blue Sparkle collection, including fabric
softener, dryer sheets, and in-wash scent booster crystals.

The effort also acknowledges that the Snuggle mascot itself is a work in
progress. “In 2025, we evolved the bear to make it more modern, and more tied to our equity of comfort,” Feldman tells Marketing Daily. That led to this year’s challenge:
finding a partner who also brings comfort and nostalgia to life.
“The second we saw our bear with its blue blanket next to Linus with his blue blanket, it was like, 'Oh my God!’ It
was such a cute idea we couldn’t believe no one had thought of it before.”
She hopes the effort adds new cultural relevance for the brand that will translate into trials,
conversions and shifting awareness.
And while Peanuts characters are more visible in ads these days, with Sony increasing its ownership of the franchise to 80% late last year, Feldman isn't
worried about overexposure. “As soon as I saw the Peanuts partnership with Starbucks, I thought, 'That’s great. All these new generations are getting introduced to Peanuts.’ Peanuts
has fans from many years ago and is meeting new fans now. That’s true for Snuggle, as well.”
The U.S. Snuggle campaign, created by TBWA, will run for six months on TV and CTV,
supported by digital, social and out-of-home. That way, it can tap Peanuts’ strong seasonal nostalgia too, from the "Great Pumpkin" cartoon (turning 60 this year) to its memorable holiday
moments, she says.
The company is also hosting an immersive pop-up in New York later this month, where guests can step into a Peanuts-inspired experience and cuddle up with their very own
signature blue blanket, freshly washed in Snuggle Blue Sparkle.
