Actor Draws Attention For Snickers Charity Effort

  • July 14, 2009
As part of "Bar Hunger," a new Snickers program supporting Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief charity, actor David Arquette is spending Tuesday and today atop the Madison Garden marquee in Manhattan.

Arquette, chairman of Feeding Hunger's entertainment council, hopes to raise $250,000 in donations for the charity through Snickers's Facebook page (facebook.com/snickers), text messaging and on-site collections.

During 2009, Snickers has pledged to donate the equivalent of at least 3 million meals to Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief charity.

The Mars Snackfood U.S. brand will also "educate and inspire Americans to help" through branding and educational messaging on its packaging, national advertising, its Facebook page and special events.--Karlene Lukovitz
