Kraft's Oscar Mayer brand has teamed with Animal Planet to promote the company's ready-made Lunchables product.
Through the promotion, the company is offering animal-loving kids a chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Boston to meet Animal Planet personality Jeff Corwin (who hosts the show "Corwin's Quest"), and get a behind-the-scenes look at the New England Aquarium and Franklin Park Zoo.
The promotion is timed with the introduction of a line extension for the brand. The company has launched two sub sandwich varieties -- turkey and cheddar and ham and American cheese -- and redesigned packaging. According to the company, the new packaging is designed to give a better view into the products in the container and is "largely recyclable."
Company officials were unavailable to comment further about the promotion and the marketing of the new line extensions. Children can enter the contest through the Lunchables Web site (www.lunchables.com), where they will be asked to answer an animal-themed trivia question. The sweepstakes runs through May 3.
