TBS' truTV is adding eight
original shows to its lineup. Claiming solid growth in its key 18-49 target demo, the net earned its most-watched quarter in 1Q.
Today marks the first time truTV held its own upfront
presentation, where it announced an array of programs, including renewals of "Black Gold" and "Full Throttle Saloon."
In addition to a second season of "Conspiracy Theory With Jesse Ventura,"
and new projects from Ashton Kutcher and Reveille ("The Office"), truTV says it gained 70 new ad clients during the last year.
David Levy, president of sales, distribution and sports for Turner
Broadcasting System, stated: "truTV has momentum and is pulling off an amazing feat -- it is a male-focused network that attracts both men and women."
truTV also announced new shows in
development, such as "Vegas Repo," "Disclosure," which reveals secret phenomena the Feds won't discuss and "American's Toughest Boss," the working title that follows Willie Degel, owner of Uncle
Jack's Steakhouse and a self-made millionaire, a relentless manager who spies on employees.

Reveille is producing "The Naked Office," which uses group therapy to help keep staff functional in
tough economic times. Other reality fare, like "Ma's Roadhouse," profiles a family-owned Texas bar and motorcycle shop.
truTV, which specializes in real-life stories, is now seen in 91 million
homes. The former Court TV was rebranded and relaunched as truTV in early 2008.
