'Master Chef' Cooks Up Hot Ratings

FOX's

A couple of new summer reality shows went at it on Tuesday -- with another Fox cooking show getting big results.

"MasterChef" -- which has already been a big hit overseas, hosted by Gordon Ramsay of "Hell's Kitchen" -- offered up a strong Nielsen preliminary 2.7 rating/8 share at 9 p.m. The show was helped up by a 2.8/10 lead-in from "Kitchen" at 8 p.m. -- the night's best-rated show.

NBC had entirely different results -- with "Breakthrough with Tony Robbins" enduring a dreadful opening 0.8/3 at 8 p.m. This was down from "Losing it with Jillian" ratings, which ran in the same time slot in the previous summer weeks.

NBC made up for this with "America's Got Talent," first with a 2.1/6 at 9 p.m., then a stronger 2.8/9 at 10 p.m. for another "Talent" edition.

Everything else was in repeats for the night. The best of these came from ABC, which took in a healthy 2.3/8 and a 2.3/7 for two "Wipeout" episodes -- at 8 p.m. and then at 9 p.m., respectively.

Fox won the night with a 2.8/9. Then came ABC at a 2.0/6. NBC was next at a 1.9/6. Univision was behind at 1.6/5; CBS was in fourth place, with a 1.2/4; and CW finished with a 0.3/1.
